As many of your are aware the Cornavirus (COVID-19) is impacting individuals, families, our local communities as well as our nation. According to the Center for Disease Control , the coronavirus is a common virus that causes an infection in your nose, sinuses and/ or upper throat. We at N.E.E.D., Inc are attempting to make the most informed, responsible and responsive decisions based off of the most current national and state guidance. N.E.E.D Inc. will operate in accordance with our current Inclement Weather Policy, which follows each counties school schedule.
The decision to close program doors was a hard one when you think of the needs of our children and families, but to respectfully comply with national and state officials in reducing the number of current and potential cases, this decision had to be made. The Office of Head Start(OHS) have asked for us to think of innovated ways to make contact with our children and families during this pandemic.
The Head Start Director, management team and consultants have developed a work plan to maintain and sustain relationships between staff, children and families during the next few weeks.
We have three primary goals:
To offer access by varies means of early childhood education professional development while in the context of your home environment.
To offer opportunities, activities and experiences that foster children’s learning and developmental progress while in their home-learning settings.
Emphasis on family engagement and positive parent-child interactions.
